Rajasthan is the driest state in India. Due to it’s Topography the climate shows many variations throughout the year. The hilly part of Rajasthan is usually cool and wet and the desert part is hot and dry. The weather has very stark variations here, the summers are the hottest in India in Rajasthan and the winters are also equally harsh. The temperatures may rise upto 46-48 degrees Celsius in peak of summers (May to July) and drop to 4-0 degrees Celsius in harshest of winter months (December to February). Summers also experience a very unique phenomenon of very hot winds blowing, these are called “loo” in local parlance and are extremely dangerous, even fatal if proper protection from these is not observed. Other seasons that the state experiences are monsoons and pre-post monsoons. These are usually the pleasant months in terms of day and night temperatures.
